The Egyptian Center for Women's Rights launched a volunteer campaign against Sexual Harassment in the Egyptian Streets. The campaign started in 2005, where the center discovered that there was no relevant data on the issue, and neither studies nor statistics nor research had been done at that time.
The center surveyed over 2800 women from all around Cairo, the Egyptian capital, and five other Egyptian governorates. The center defines sexual harassment is any uninvited behavior that is sexual in nature and makes women feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

The campaign targets the entire Egyptian society: men and women of all ages. The campaign works to convince women to stand up for their rights, to realize and understand that they are not the cause of these harassments, to give them confidence and to help them face everyday life challenges. The campaign targets the men with certain messages, which remind them that women's existence is normal and natural, and to respect women as humans in the street. The campaign also works to sensitize men on the psychological effects and sociological impact of sexual harassment on women.

The campaign has a radio spot on one of the famous Egyptian radio station as tool to reach bigger audience.

بدأ المركز المصري لحقوق المرأة حملة ضد "التحرش الجنسي في الشوارع المصرية" منذ عام 2005 حيث اكتشف غياب أي بيانات أو دراسات أو إحصائيات حول الظاهرة. وقام المركز بدراسة 2800 سيدة في مدينة القاهرة، العاصمة، وخمس محافظات أخرى. ويعرف المركز التحرش الجنسي بأنه أي تصرف جنسي غير مرغوب به ويشعر المرأة بعدم الراحة وعدم الأمان.

وتستهدف الحملة المجتمع المصري رجال ونساء من كل الأعمار، وتعمل الحملة على إقناع النساء بالتصدي لحقوقهن وإدراك أنهن لسن السبب في هذه الأفعال، وكذلك إكسابهن الثقة ومساعدتهن على مواجهة التحديات اليومية. كما تقدم الحملة عددا من الرسائل المحددة للرجال التي تذكرهم بأن وجود النساء في الشارع هو أمر طبيعي وعادي، وتدعوهم لاحترام المرأة كإنسان، كما تعمل الحملة على تذكير تحفيز الرجال لإدراك التأثيرات النفسية والاجتماعية للتحرش الجنسي على النساء.

وتقدم الحملة إعلانا في أحد المحطات الإذاعية الشهيرة كوسيلة تخاطب مع أوسع قطاع ممكن من المجتمع المصري.
