International Environmental Law Research Centre (IELRC)
The International Environmental Law Research Centre (IELRC) is an independent, non-profit research organisation established in 1995. It is an Association under Articles 60ff of the Swiss Civil Code. It has offices in the International Environment House in Geneva (Switzerland) and Nairobi (Kenya). IELRC has a directly related to issues of equity, for instance concerning the situation of women in environmental management (gender concerns) or the relations between states in international law (differential treatment).
International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)
A global research institute with headquarters in Washington, D.C., and regional offices in Nairobi, Kenya, and New Delhi, India. It also has project offices in Mumbai and Hyderabad. ICRW is comprised of social scientists, economists, public health specialists and demographers, all of whom are experts in gender relations. We are thought leaders driven by a passion to alleviate poverty and rectify injustice in the world.
Habitat International Coalition - South Asia Regional Programme (HIC-SARP)
A particular focus of HIC-SARP work is on promoting and protecting the equal rights of women to housing, land, property and inheritance. HIC-SARP aims to achieve its goals through advocacy, research, human rights education, and outreach through network building at local, national and international levels.
The Global Land Tool Network
The Global Land Tool Network (GLTN)’s main objective is to contribute to poverty alleviation and the Millennium Development Goals through land reform, improved land management and security of tenure. The GLTN has developed a global partnership on land issues, pulling together global partners, as well as many individual members. These partners include international networks of civil society, International Finance Institutions, international research and training institutions, donors and professional bodies.
FAO – Gender and Land Rights Database
Online database produced by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) contains Country level information on social, economic, political and cultural issues related to the gender inequalities embedded in land rights. Includes national legal framework, customary law, international treaties.

Dimitra
Dimitra est un projet d'information et de communication participative qui contribue à améliorer la visibilité des populations rurales, particulièrement des femmes. Le but de Dimitra est de mettre en lumière les rôles en tant que producteurs et productrices des hommes et des femmes, pour que leurs intérêts respectifs soient davantage pris en compte et qu’ils puissent participer pleinement au développement rural de leurs communautés et leur pays. Le projet renforce les capacités des populations rurales, des femmes en particulier, par la diffusion d’information et l’échange d’expériences.
Chronic Poverty Research Center (CPRC)
The Chronic Poverty Research Centre (CPRC) is an international partnership of universities, research institutes and NGOs which exists to focus attention on chronic poverty. CPRC is undertaking specific policy analysis which seeks to examine potential gender related entry points for addressing chronic poverty. This stream of work is focusing on gender-specific variables including opportunities for political engagement, legal representation, reproductive health, education, and ownership of assets.
Center on Housing Rights & Eviction (COHRE)
COHRE believes that securing women’s rights to housing and land is fundamental to improving women’s status and their lives. In order to secure women’s housing and land rights, COHRE believes that we must use a methodology and approach that recognises that gender-neutral forms of advocacy are not enough to make a real change in the lives of women.
Center for Women’s Land Rights

To address the challenges faced by women in accessing their right to land and property and unite the global community in support of women’s land rights, the Rural Development Institute (RDI) launched the Global Center for Women’s Land Rights in 2009. RDI’s Center provides resources and training on women’s land rights and connects policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from around the world. RDI’s Center pilots innovative solutions to women’s lack of secure land rights.
