War Against Rape (WAR)
WAR is a group of committed women and men dedicated to building a sensitised society free from gender-based oppression, discrimination, exploitation and violence. WAR aims to raise awareness about the issues of sexual violence and rape; help the survivors legally, psychologically and medically; punish the perpetrators and improve the laws relating to rape and other forms of sexual abuse and violence. War conducts advocacy and awareness programs through press, publications, media, seminars, networking and influencing government and other concerned agencies; provides support services for survivors of sexual violence; works towards better, easy timely and dignified access to survivors in seeking police and medical support; collects and analyses statistic on the issue of sexual violence; and works toward the repeal of Hudood Ordinances that are discriminatory towards citizens in general, and women in particular, and enactment of more humane and rational rape laws. WAR was part of the SKSW Campaign through the WRRC Programme with the collaboratively organised traveling art exhibition on honour killings.
