Nermin Allam is an Assistant Professor of Politics at Rutgers University-Newark. She is the author of Women and the Egyptian Revolution: Engagement and Activism during the 2011 Arab Uprisings. Her research focuses on gender politics and social movements in the Middle East and North Africa. Allam’s work has appeared in PS: Political Science & Politics, Mobilization, Politics & Gender, Social Research: An International Quarterly, Middle East Law and Governance, and Sociology of Islam, among other journals.
