Najia Haneefi

Najia Haneefi is a dedicated outspoken feminist activist and fearless radio journalist with extensive experience in leading campaigns and protests for women’s civil and political rights, for which received, the UK International Service Human Rights Award for the Defence of the Human Rights (2007). Also successfully managed, fundraised and coordinated rights-based and women’s empowerment programs and projects for international and national organizations (even during the Taliban regime) in Afghanistan and recently in Canada.  Co-Founder and member of various rights-based women’s organizations such as the Women’s Political Participation Committee. She has worked with  Women Living under Muslim laws (WLUML) since 2003. Athough she has a degree in Engeenering after she arrived in Canada she changed field  and  and obtaind  a BA and MA in education with a minor in Women’s Studies from University of Ottawa.
